Chinese Herbal Medicine

Tui Na (Chinese Therapeutic Massage)

Very vigorous and rapid massage, typically with deep, broad pressure.  Particularly effective for sports injuries.

Gua Sha

Scraping for release of toxins and stagnation.  Commonly used for colds, achy joints, and tight musckes in the nape.

Cupping

Uses negative air pressure to relax muscles and to move lymph and blood.  Commonly used for back pain, muscle aches, and chest congestion.

Auriculotherapy (Ear Acupuncture)
Commonly used for detoxification, to treat addictions, to decrease withdrawals, to curb sugar cravings, and to manage pain.

Moxibustion

Burning of the herb "moxa" (artemesia vulgaris)to warm tissues and to increase Yang Qi.  Commonly used for stiff muscles and joints, or for cramps.
